View Full Version : At what patch will DOMO launch?

So yeah, we're all hyped up and getting our keyboards cleaned to rock some domo.

But how much of the game will be released at launch? Will we start out with only the basics, or will we have access to later patches already from the start?

And of course, the follow up, how fast can we expect patches to come if domo launches from the beginning?

Would be awesome to get a GM reply, but why not also let people troll about how many patches they'd like to see on launch

I think it would be best to start from the basics. Say level cap of 50, and release fencer and wd later on in domo. This way people don't get competitive and get maxed out in 1 week.

Heard that level cap at first will be lv50.

Oh crêpes on my cakes, i forgot all about 50 being cap way back in the days.

Yeah, i guess it makes sense to let it start out from basics again. Shame to miss out on lvling spots in bigbeam though

Wait, wasn't the dancer class not released originally? I don't remember; because I joined afterwards I think. But if someone could clarify for me? And if so- I hope it'd be included at launch.

It depends on the version. Releases and updates have differed in all versions so it is impossible to say exactly when Suba will release anything without official confirmation from them.

In terms of the Aeria version. Open beta started on the 30th Nov 2007, Dancer was released on the 9th June 2008. Where as the Japanese version already had the Dancer job when OB began.

Not having the Babel patch is gonna suck mainly because I love pet muse and it was really nice to know when to recast the pet songs :S

What I would LIKE to see in terms of release for this version:

- Level 50 level cap - raising it by 5 levels every big update.
- All classes would be nice at launch, but if not, delaying the release of Witch Doctor, Fencer, Dancer, Merchant, and Sorcerer (which wasn't even released at all in Aeria version anyway) would be fine - just not if they are delayed for too long (a few months at most).
- All zones up to 50 except Bigbeam (Bigbeam should be released up to a year after launch IMO).
- In-game events, casino, guild cottage, and SE pets should be available at launch instead of a delayed release. I would be okay with SE pets being delayed a month, but not longer than that.
- In-game item mall and the journal exp badges would be nice at launch but are not required. Achievements would be awesome at launch also, but since that would require a lot more translating I'm not sure how likely it is.

Things like costume upgrading/statting, arena/pk zones, and the confusion dance questline can wait for a bit until they are released. Obviously at some point we want to be caught up to the TW version. If they don't start us off caught up, then they will give us the updates promised in the kickstarter without issues. If we do start off with 100% of the content from the TW version (which I find unlikely since a lot of the newer content isn't translated yet probably), then idk how Suba is going to hold up their end of their promise to us to give us so many updates within the first year of the game being launched.

Hopefully a GM can come tell us what's up. I doubt they'll be allowed to reveal exactly how much content we'll be getting though. We'll have to just wait and see.

I would like the floodgates to be opened, and to just have as much of the content as possible released when it comes out.

I agree with the level cap and zones. But as for job availability... I won't play DoMO until Dancer is out. :MAD: {Die-hard Dancer lover >:c}
And the SE4/5 pets I don't mind waiting, but I would mind on the SE1-3. :c {Miss my baby - SE1 Ruby}
The costume upgrading system was awesome, but I agree it can wait. lol

You could always level your potential dancer subs until it is out - That's my plan, I'm gonna main dancer but with pet muse / doc / witch doc subs... If Dancer and Witch Doc ain't out I'm just gonna be pet musing and doccing the night away~

I'd prefer at least the SE1~3 pets to be relatively soon though because I already KNOW which ones I want, and I'm not gonna settle for something else in the meantime 'cos I know I'd just wind up selling it.

Bigbeam <3

Bigbeam has the best exp for like levels 20-35, but it's mainly for soloers with nurses or duo/trio parties - not full aoe parties. I want there to be lots of aoe parties when the game first comes out, but there will be significantly less if Bigbeam is released at launch. I'm not saying don't release it ever, but waiting a bit before releasing it will ensure that we have tons of aoe parties for a while.

I agree the SE4/5 can wait a LONG time. I hope Suba does what Aeria did with the release of the SE's. Start with just original, then add SE1, then SE2, etc. as a sort of staggered release. I also hope they give the SE's their own pet tokens like Aeria did instead of have them be in the regular pet token at an extremely rare rate (like TW version). But I also would be happy if SE1-3 were available at launch. Whichever way they decide to do it.

Also about certain classes not being released at launch - I definitely understand not liking that idea. I would hope that all classes are available right away, but even if they aren't I will still play the game. This game has so many classes so even if my favorite(s) aren't available, I'll still have something fun to play while I wait.

Ah, thank you :) Personally I wouldn't mind.. I doubt that we will see people with Nurses for a while anyway! xD
While AoE parties are nice for those who prefer it, I think its nice to at least have the option if a party is hard to find or the one you're in turns out to be a dud x) And that is one of the things I loved about DoMO.. Not finding a team wont stop you from being able to play :D But let't not turn this into a solo/team discussion! Thanks for clearing that up for me :)

I'm still gonna hope for Bigbeam to be out from the start :P

I honestly came into DoMO after all the main patches, WD was available and all the SEs, Bigbeam was always on the map, level cap was 70 etc. etc.

I would love to start the game from the beginning because I never got to experience that, I want to struggle and be rewarded with easier ways to do things as I stay loyal to the game and also have stories to tell later down the line as new people come up and are integrated into the community. I know there will be lots of things to miss, but imagine how excited you'll be when what you were waiting for comes out. DoMO doesn't have the class you always play? Try something new, you might find another class you enjoy as well. Experience. Grow. The pet you really want isn't out yet? discover what it's like to play without a pet. Even if you want to be a pet muse you could try another class and get it up there in the level so when your pet comes out and you do switch to that pet muse it'll be all the quicker and sweeter because you were patient enough to wait for that item to come out.

Hi everyone! Exciting news! I spoke with the GMs regarding your concerns and questions about CB and where we will be when DOMO launches, and they've told me that the first patch will come with a level cap of 50, with subsequent patches which include raising the level cap and content never released in GT or AG! As for jobs, whatever not released at launch will be implemented soon after. More is going to be announced in the weeks to come, so stick around!

Awesome to get a reply!

Nothing happened to be mentioned about the patch with updated engine?
It'd probably be best and I would personally love that domo starts over from the very beginning, but lacking that patch would certainly be annoying for the people with better computers.

I guess it's going the same way as Gamecyber's DOMO,
As in we'll have every job except Dancer, Merchant and Witch Doc, which will be released when the cap goes up to 55,60 and 65 respectively

I disagree. I hope they hold off on cap raise, but I'm nearly certain those jobs will be released very soon after OBT.

GameCyber released those jobs/levelcaps 2, 4 and 8 weeks straight after the launch date

Hmm I guess that means the 60/70 cap would be different months...
Well so long as I don't have to wait that long for Dancer, I'm fine with whatever~

I've been hoping for that too, because I don't want us to run out of updates less than a year in and never have another update until softstar decide to make new content (we can only hope)

I wouldn't mind starting from Vanilla Domo either. I came around when I think Fencer dropped did and the cap was raised to 60. I plan on playing this game again this time from the cradle to the grave.

i think it's good for CB to start from first patch, since it's better to find bug from the basic client/patch isn't it?
