Quick Reference: The Elemental Circle

Strong > Weak

Water > Fire > Metal > Wood > Earth > Water

If you're fighting a water elemental monster for example, you want earth on attack AND defence. Water doesn't have an elemental advantage over water so using water defence will do nothing in this situation.

I remember seeing a more detailed guide. It had percentages. I seem to remember there was 2 elements an element would do better than 100% damage, and 2 that it would do worse in. Don't quote me, It has been years since I saw that guide.

This is more of a quick reference for the element to use rather than a guide detailing how much to use. The link to the Domo Wiki gives all the information on Elements and the Link to AKFrost's forum details how they interact with other forms of damage multipliers.

You might be thinking of the Elemental Boosting system, which was intended to be in the game but wasn't implemented outside a reference in the level 30 Shaman Life Quest to my knowledge.
