Really just a preference - I would say 2H axes - but, there is that gap with 2h axes around your level - level 50 (Diamond) then level 60 (Cleaver). Eventually you'll find that 2H axes gives more XP/hour if you can stay alive.
AC and SA are both good. I just switched from lvl 10 concentration to lvl SA after the patch and like SA much better. You'll most likely want both AC and SA at 10 eventually. Keep in mind Brutal Swing adds damage to AC. Hope this helps.

With the exp rates ATM u shud be leveling pretty quickly so look to lvl both
but I guess fighters are known for their 1v1 power so leveling ac would be wiser. The extra Spedx from sa becomes more known when u are pvping n at higher maps/level

Do you use mana like mad? If you don't use much mana, you're gonna be tanking more so I'd use a 1h and switch to a 2h real quick to use attack skills. But if you do use a lot of mana, you want to maximize your damage by using a 2h. I agree, also. Lvl ac first. It'll help you lvl faster. Sa isn't really necessary until higher maps/bc since you want your skills to complete faster at that point to avoid death.

go 1 hand if your not using skill, 1 hand weapons has better atk speed, then switch to your 2 handed weapon when using skill

ac first ... then sa ...

sorry i have to disagree with you vnsaint
i think its better to max SA first...because fighters are natural beast when it comes to killing monsters

in reply to the thread title
i think you should stick to 2hand axes..and was still able to handle the hellspawns in s1 and s2

i think having both a 1h and a 2h is a good idea. 1h for tanking, 2h for pwning. Maxing SA first is sorta pointless. As I said before, SA isn't necessary at all other than to complete skills faster to avoid death.

Actually, my fighter is pretty awesome! Though I have amazing gears, it's my 6+ years experience is what makes mine better than yours.

seeing as though i am the only person in here who has leveled a fighter to 90 in 10 days. i'll tell you exactly what to do. always use a 2h, never a shield it adds weight you can use to carry more mana or hp pots. the trick to leveling fast is not just getting the best spawn, its using the correct skills. you will want to get ac as high as you can right off the bat, the reason for this is because when you get to s2 and have your bc lvl coming up, you will be able to kill the fastest using ac to 1-2 shot non demons, and usually 1 bc to kill demons. also, during your leveling you will want to have xtals to get to the higher levels, and always have phoenix + sup pack on. take advantage of the pay items, worry about aging etc.. later. when i did 9x in 10 days, it was xmas of 08 and a few days we had x3 and x2 event going on, so of course that helped a bit, but also, you need a very good spawn, like s2 hs's, and when you need to rp, you need to have a clannie or someone rp for you, or hold a spawn and rp yourself etc.... try to get at least 18 hours in a day and you will hit 9x in a week. though i have just recently come back, i see that we have x5 events, so with all xp items you will make x8 xp, meaning 9x is easy to get in 7 days instead of the 10 it took me. hope that helps.

Grats on being a fast leveler but........

WTF yeah lets only put in 18 hours a day to Pointless Training (PT), 6 hours of sleep a day. **** eating, we can IV drip it. Quit our jobs and friends for a week, progress in a game! I see why you're the only one that did that.

to be perfectly honest, i would lvl both at once, that way you have a good ballance between SA and AC, I did this on my fs and lvled fast.

first off i did that when i was unemployed, secondly, listening to music helps while doing crazy grinds like that, and you will level extremely fast. anyways to answer warshal it was lvl 1 - 90 in 10 days, that was with help of all pay items and a couple x2 and x3 events, and having s2 hs for most of the time lol either way, its a grind, its not that fun, and will burn you out for leveling to 95. i'd suggest doing my idea at 95-100 or 100-102 and take advantage of the events while they last.

my 2 cents. use a 2h 99% of the times but keep a 1h+shield if possible. if you use 2h and have to pot a lot, it's probably not very efficient for you. in most cases, you would rather level in a easy area with 2h than a hard area with 1h. unless you're hardcore or superleet like some pros here, i suggest keeping a 1h+shield for two reasons.
1) in ct2 (example), a rasha spawning could cream you pretty fast esp if you lag. not to mention they're accompanied by like 8omis. once, the omis surrounded me the moment they spawn and i didn't react fast enough to core. if i had a 1h+shield, and swapped while spamming pots, i might smarten up to core out
2) more of a jackass thing but, if you're in a party, your individual effort isn't gonna make or break the total xp and sometimes your party might oversaturate the spawn anyways. might consider using a 1h+shield to save pots XD

For me, 2handed axe will be powerful damage than 1handed axe with shield...

Fighters are what you can call versatiles, unlike other game where they are just a basic class for noobs.
Versatile cuz you can really make a "dual specialisation" as a fighter, like playing axe for dmg and sword for crit or 1h for tanking and 2h for long train.

You have 2 choices, farming ct2 easily at 90 with your 2h or choose to solo i2 with shield and 1h. Ofc, you might say that xp per hour is better in ct2, but is that interesting to be in middle of 20 mobs that does awful sounds and ugly ton of graphic fx or do you prefer killing them one by one for aproximatly same result.

Best choice is imo to take the middle way. One set to tank and one set to dps so you can switch map and don't get stuck like those archer with 55 armor that spend their 80's days in ds.

2h is way better, its like "eat my 2h axe GROTESQUE!" "hmmm how's that feel?"
1h with shield is for "OMG i'm GONNA DIE!" "phew, that was close"

get it? :)
